Brilliant Directories offers many features (dynamic and static) in which SEO settings, variables, relating SEO data and more can be managed. As per default functionality all of the SEO settings have been optimized, however, the system was built in a way that offers multiple ways of customizing each of these settings, giving the freedom to make many changes and adapt the system to the admin needs.

Using Variables in SEO Templates

Not all SEO variables are used in specific pages, even more, some only exist on very specific places because they depend on the page type (eg: Content, data_category, account, etc...).

Since this SEO data can change depending on many factors, it may be difficult to keep track on which SEO variables are used on each individual page, on each individual membership feature, on each content page, on each default or customized member profile, search result, post results and more.

Levels of SEO Management

On this article, the admin can find a description of the 3 levels of SEO that can be used: SEO Templates, SEO Pages, SEO Members.

1st Level: SEO TEMPLATE

The top SEO level would be the SEO Templates. Here it is possible to change the overall SEO template for all members, categories, pages and more. This affects the whole system.

2nd Level: SEO Pages

The following SEO level is the Web Page SEO Settings. This will affect the SEO for a specific static page and any data inside of it. The Web Page SEO has higher priority than the SEO Template.

3rd Level: SEO Members

The last level is the Member SEO Settings. This will only affect that specific member. For example, how their profile page looks, what SEO settings they have working or disabled, even their custom URL. The Member SEO has higher priority than the Page SEO and the SEO Template.

To access and edit this information navigate to My Members >> Search Members >> Locate the member >> Hoover over "Actions" and click on "Quick Edit".

Last tip is that all SEO variables must be within the Percent sign "%".

You write text labels, SEO variables, and email variables like this:

%variable_name%

And NOT like this:

variable_name

The name of the variable has to be between % signs to indicate to the system it is a variable. If it is added as simple text the system won't read it as a variable.

This is because All SEO variables on the system are handled with the %% meta-characters.
