We made updates to several default widgets this week. If you customized any of these widgets and want to update them, you can find the latest code in the corresponding default widget. Please remember that if you have a custom version of any of these widgets, the latest updates will not be pushed to your website.


Admin Design

  • Released more of the refreshed Admin design. Manage API Keys, Webhooks, Image Settings, Autosuggest Settings, Text Labels and Advanced Settings have been rebuilt in the new look, and Developer Hub now opens on a menu of tool cards. In addition, the .htaccess and robots.txt editors were rebuilt with an in-place Restore Default and keyboard saving, and Undo and Redo were added to every code editor. Along with this, date range pickers were added across the new pages, and the Text Labels list now responds to each keystroke in about a tenth of a second.

Domain Manager

  • Improved the Open Webmail link so a mailbox now opens straight into webmail without asking for the password again, and returns to the Email Accounts section afterwards.
  • Fixed an issue that prevented subdomain records from being added in the DNS editor, where every attempt reported that the name was not valid for the domain.
  • Fixed an issue that caused the automatic sender setup to publish an SPF record above the ten-lookup limit, and an issue that could leave a domain with two SPF records or overwrite an existing verification record.
  • Fixed an issue that caused changing a website's domain to only add or remove the www prefix to remove the domain's DNS records from the nameservers.

Websites & Hosting

  • Fixed an issue that caused domains ending in .co.uk, .com.au and similar two-part endings to be reported as Not Verified on the Enhanced Server move screen while their nameservers were pointed correctly.
  • Fixed an issue that caused a website launched or reset from the starter template to be given the template's connection address instead of its own.
  • Fixed an issue that caused the automatic bad-bot block to refuse requests from image CDNs, Bing's crawler and PageSpeed Insights.
  • Fixed an issue that caused the In-App Purchase window in the Admin to stay blank when the browser or the network blocked the embedded checkout. The window now offers to continue to the checkout page in its own tab.

Developer Hub & API

  • Added an option to the Get User request in the API that returns the Form Builder labels for Dropdown, Checkbox and Radio fields alongside the stored values. Without the option, the response is unchanged.
  • Added Post Details as a page type for SEO templates, so an SEO template for post pages can now be created through the API and selected in the Admin.
  • Fixed an issue that caused a digital product whose price was updated through the API to keep charging the previous price.
  • Fixed an issue that prevented redirect rules from working when the Source URL contained a space, an ampersand, an apostrophe or an accented character.

Admin Access & Security

  • Improved how text typed into the Admin is stored and printed back, so values containing quotation marks or angle brackets are now kept exactly as entered on the Admin role editor, View Contacts, the internal notes of a billing subscription and Payment Settings. In addition, the Default Title Text for Comments Section field no longer accepts PHP code.
  • Improved the Invite Admin form so the same invitation can no longer be submitted repeatedly in quick succession.
  • Improved the Admin so pages that were replaced by newer modules years ago are no longer reachable at their old addresses, and the side menu entries pointing to them were removed.

Form Manager

  • Fixed an issue that prevented a default form from being customized on websites that do not use HTTPS, where saving returned an empty error message.
  • Fixed an issue that caused options added to a Checkbox or Dropdown List field to be lost on save while a success message was shown.

Web Pages

  • Fixed an issue that caused landing pages built with BD Butler to lose their styling on the live page while looking correct in the Web Page Builder editor. Widget Involved: Bootstrap Theme Framework 
  • Fixed an issue that prevented changes to the Coming Soon page from being saved, and an issue that reported Changes Saved when the server had refused the save.

Posts, Comments & Events

  • Released Likes and Dislikes on post comments. Each post type can now enable Likes only or Likes and Dislikes in Comment Settings, each comment shows its vote counts, members cannot vote on their own comments, and comments can be sorted by Most Likes, including by default. In addition, comment dates are now shown correctly on websites whose date format does not use slashes.

  • Fixed an issue that caused the Social Media Shared Image saved on an SEO template to replace each post's own share image.

  • Fixed an issue that caused the events section on the home page to show the first date of a repeating event that has no End Date instead of its next date.

Members & Accounts

  • Improved listing previews so an Admin can now open and review an inactive listing, marked with an Admin preview banner, without activating it first.

  • Fixed an issue that caused a profile photo or logo deleted from a member's account on the website to remain on the server and still be reachable at its direct address.

  • Fixed an issue that caused member login to fail with a server error when the browser carried a large number of cookies, and that left the Log In Now button disabled afterwards.

  • Fixed an issue that caused the Profile Analytics Add-On to discard clicks on a tracked link whose destination is not one of the member's own profile fields. 

Member Search

  • Fixed an issue that prevented a member search from returning a member when the typed name skipped a middle name. The same change applies to the member search page, the sidebar search form, autosuggest and the reviews search.

Sign Up & Leads

  • Improved the link a visitor is returned to after signing up and the origin link recorded with a lead, so only addresses on the website itself are followed.

  • Improved the handling of values saved from website forms and from lead submissions that include a photo, so text containing apostrophes or other special characters is stored correctly.
  • Fixed an issue that caused lead forms placed outside a member profile, such as Get Matched, to fail without a message on websites with many members.

Membership Plans

  • Improved the plan settings so a plan can no longer be saved with a Sign Up Form that does not match its Account Type, and the Sign Up Form field now sits next to Account Type.
  • Fixed an issue that caused a plan switched to Free to keep the prices that had been typed in, and an issue that caused a price pasted or filled in by the browser to be saved with its previous value.

Checkout & Billing

  • Removed the notice stating that invoices are generated 14 days in advance from the Transactions page.
  • Fixed an issue that caused a coupon to charge the member's card on the coupon's last available use.
  • Fixed an issue that prevented conversion tracking scripts pasted into the Conversion Tracking Codes settings from running when the checkout success message is shown in a popup.

Imports

  • Fixed an issue that caused a Business Data import to attach members to the top-level category only when the selected sub-category has sub-sub-categories of its own.
  • Fixed an issue that caused the Directory Property dropdowns on the Import Members Data Map to open behind the pop-up.

Newsletters & Email

  • Improved newsletter statistics. A Clicks by Link table now shows how many recipients clicked each individual link, the per-recipient timeline names the link that was clicked, and soft and hard bounces are now listed as their own events with the reason reported by the mail server. In addition, the same detail is now shown in the Email Outbox.

Website Settings

  • Improved the Google Maps server key check so the key is now tested from the website's own server, which is where member geocoding runs, instead of from the admin server. A key Google refuses for the website is now reported as refused. In addition, the way the test result is received by the Admin was hardened.
  • Fixed an issue that caused third-party widgets that run background workers, such as the spam check in an Elfsight form, to be blocked on websites using the CSP Headers option.
