This article explains how to view and manage active admin sessions from the Admin Accounts section of the admin area.
Admin sessions show when an admin account is currently logged in, when the account was last active, and how many active sessions are connected to that admin account.
Overview
Admin sessions help website owners and authorized admins monitor admin account access. This is useful when an admin password has been changed, an admin account may have been accessed from an unknown device, or an admin should be logged out of all active sessions.
Changing an admin password does not always immediately end every active session. The admin session tools make it possible to log out active sessions for an admin account.
How to Access Admin Sessions
- Go to Settings >> Admin Accounts.
- Find the admin account that should be reviewed.
- Use the account information shown in the admin account row to review the admin’s recent activity.
- Use the Actions dropdown to manage available session options.

Admin Account Session Details
The Admin Accounts page displays useful account and session details for each admin account. Available details may include:
- Status: Shows whether the admin account is active.
- Email Address: Shows the email address connected to the admin account.
- Last Active: Shows the most recent activity timestamp for the admin account.
- Last Active IP: Shows the IP address from the admin’s most recent activity.
- Default Login Website: Shows the default website connected to the admin account.
- Logged In: Shows how many active sessions the admin currently has on the website.
- Admin Role: Shows the admin role assigned to the account.

Logged In Sessions
The Logged In value shows how many active sessions are currently connected to the admin account.
For example:
Logged In: 1 SessionThis means the admin account currently has one active session on the website.
If the admin is logged in from multiple browsers, devices, or locations, more than one session may display.
Last Active
The Last Active timestamp shows the most recent activity recorded for the admin account. This can help confirm when an admin account was last used in the admin area.
If the timestamp or activity looks unfamiliar, the website owner or authorized admin may want to review the account, change the password, and log out active sessions.
Last Active IP
The Last Active IP value shows the IP address connected to the admin’s most recent activity. This can be used as an additional reference when reviewing admin account access.
Note: IP addresses can change depending on the admin’s network, device, location, VPN, or internet provider.
Show Active Sessions
The Show Active Sessions option displays active session details for the selected admin account.
To view active sessions:
- Go to Settings >> Admin Accounts.
- Find the admin account that should be reviewed.
- Click the Actions dropdown for that admin.
- Select Show Active Sessions.

The system will display active session details for the selected admin account.
Logout All Sessions
The Logout All Sessions option logs the selected admin account out of all active sessions. This is useful when an admin password has been changed, a device should no longer stay logged in, or the admin account may have been accessed by an unwanted user.
To log out all active sessions for an admin:
- Go to Settings >> Admin Accounts.
- Find the admin account that should be logged out.
- Click the Actions dropdown for that admin.
- Select Logout All Sessions.
- Confirm the action when prompted.

After this action is completed, the selected admin account will be logged out of all active sessions. The admin will need to log in again to access the admin area.
When to Logout All Sessions
Logging out all admin sessions is recommended in situations where access should be reset or secured.
Common examples include:
- An admin password was changed after a security concern.
- An admin account was accessed from an unfamiliar device or location.
- An admin forgot to log out on a shared or public device.
- An admin should no longer remain logged in after permissions were changed.
- An admin account appears to have more active sessions than expected.
Activity Tracker
Admin session activity can also be reviewed from the Activity Tracker.
To review admin-related activity:
- Go to Dashboard >> Activity Tracker.
- Use the Admin Area filter to view admin-related activity.
- Use the keyword search to filter by Admin Account, when needed.
The Activity Tracker can help review admin activity connected to logins, sessions, and admin-area actions.
