Smart List & Export Functionality for Member Reviews

Overview

The Member Reviews page can export the reviews that match the current search and filters, and can save that search as a Smart List to come back to later.


Both are on Interactions » Member Reviews: Export CSV is the download button in the bar above the list (1), and Create Smart List is a button at the top of the page (2).

Export Reviews

  1. Search and filter the list until it shows the reviews to export. EG pick Pending in the status filter to export only pending reviews.
  2. Click the Export CSV button (the download icon next to the record count).
  3. The confirmation names how many reviews will be exported. Click Export Records (1).
  4. An Exporting Reviews window shows the progress while the file is created. Large exports are written in batches of 1,000 reviews.
  5. When the file is ready, the message The export file is downloading. appears and the browser downloads it.

The export file is a ZIP archive that holds a CSV file with the review data. Extract the ZIP file to open the CSV in a spreadsheet program.

Cells that start with a formula sign get a leading apostrophe.
When a cell in the export starts with =, +, - or @, or with a tab or line break, the CSV file puts an apostrophe (') in front of it, so spreadsheet programs such as Excel and Google Sheets show the value as text instead of running it as a formula. Phone numbers and numbers (EG +1 310 555 0142 or -12.50) are exported as entered.

When no review matches the current search and filters, the export stops with the message No reviews match the current search and filters.

Creating a Smart List

A smart list keeps the current search and every filter, including several statuses or ratings picked together, the date range and the keyword.

  1. Search and filter the list.
  2. Click Create Smart List.
  3. Enter a name in Smart list name and click Create Smart List.
  4. The Smart List Created window confirms it. Click Open Smart List to see it on the Smart Lists page, or Close to stay on Member Reviews.

Review smart lists show on My Members » Smart Lists & Tags with Reviews as their list source (1). Opening one shows the Member Reviews page with its saved search and filters.
