How do you change the background colour?

How do you change the background colour or add a photo to the How it works page/Contact Us Page etc??

Also I noticed that the Bootstrap theme has an extra 'Design settings' function (in the setting menu), which I don't have... Is it possible to get this function and can you explain how the bootstrap theme is acquired and if its worth changing over too?

Sorry I'm still learning!

Hi Luis, that's perfect!  Thanks so much for your help :-)

Hi Melissa,

Thank you for your message, we apologize for the late response.

Do you still need help with the background color of the How it works page/Contact Us Page etc?

About Bootstrap:

We do have a new BETA version of the software available that has been completely redesigned using the Bootstrap Framework. We can absolutely use your current license to change your site to use the new bootstrap-based BETA version of the software.

However, because this BETA version of the software has been largely re-coded from top to bottom to take advantage of the Bootstrap Framework, I want to be sure to explain what the benefits and limitations of the new bootstrap theme are for existing sites like yours.

The World's Most Popular Responsive Framework - This version of the software is completely re-built on the Bootstrap Framework, meaning it is designed to be mobile-first. Because of this, your site will look gorgeous on all devices, whether it is a cell phone, tablet, or desktop computer.

New Intuitive, Powerful Design Settings - This version of the software comes with dozens of new, easy to use design settings that allow you to customize the look and feel of your site with an intuitive interface.

Developers Love Bootstrap - For more comprehensive design changes, being built on the Bootstrap Framework means that any developer or designer who is familiar with this popular framework will be able to make larger design changes more easily than ever before.

Locations Powered by Google Maps - The new version of the software uses the latest Google Maps API for location searches, giving you the power of the fastest and most accurate locations engine available today. Note: Providing your own free Google Maps Javascript API Key will be required to enable searches on this version of the software.

Cleaner Code - In creating this new version, many areas of the core code have been cleaned, optimized, and redesigned for better performance and clearer logic for future developers to do even more with the software than ever before.

BETA Version - Since this is currently a BETA version of the software, you may experience some bugs that are not present in the current version of the software. Of course we will work diligently to resolve any issues reported with this version of the Software, but the timelines to complete some specific issues may not be clear as the final code is still being worked on to complete this version.

Customizations and Most Data is Not Transferable - Because this version of the software had to be re-coded from top to bottom in many areas to be compatible with the parameters of the Bootstrap Framework, any previous customizations done to your current site will not be transferable to the new site, and most data, including Member feature posts (articles, events, coupons, etc), and Member data itself will not be transferable to the new version of the software. While we will attempt to transfer as much data as possible, you are essentially launching a brand-new site and starting from the beginning when moving to the new BETA version of the software.

If you would like us to launch a brand new site on this version of the software so you are starting with a clean slate and no data transfer involved, we only need to charge a one-time setup fee of $50 to cover our costs of setting up the new site for you.

If you would like us to try to migrate data from your current site to the new one, additional fees may apply, depending on what data you would like transferred.  Ans as noted above, most member-related data will not be transferable.

If you would like to move forward with re-launching your site on the new BETA version of the software, please let us know what, if any, data you would like to transfer, and we would be happy to provide you with the final cost for the transfer.

Once you are ready to make the transition, we will place your request in the queue to be moved to the new BETA version of the software, which will take 5 - 10 business days, depending on the current queue. We will notify you here in this ticket once the transition has been completed.

Let me know if you have any question.

Thanks! :)

Hi Luana, I'm new to BD and I'm on the bootstrap version.

Following on from the question above, I am trying to edit the background of my content pages (how it works page, etc.).  I'd like to create pages with background images and text, etc. in front but I'm not sure where the CSS is for this.

Please can you advise?

Hi Abigail, on your backend, if you go to Content -> Add / Edit Webpages and select the page you wish to edit, the 2nd section will be the CSS for that specific page, it should show like this on your site:

Thanks Luis.  I did go into this section for one of my pages and I entered the following code:

#first_container.content-container {

background-color: #efefef;

However, there is still a small gap under the container and above the 'sign up for newsletter bar' which I can't seem to pinpoint.  Any help would be appreciated!

Also, two more queries: (i) what would I need to enter if I wanted a background image to cover the content section of the page? I did try:

#first_container.content-container {

background: url(..images/homepage_image.jpeg) center center no-repeat;

background-size: cover;

overflow: auto;

but it didn't work...

(ii) where do I go to enter more <divs> to the page?

Thanks again!

For both cases, can you provide the page you are working on and on the first case, an image of what you mean about the gap so I can delve into the problem faster and provide you with a concrete answer.

Hi Luis, thanks for coming back to me on this.  Rick helped me earlier during a training session with the gap (clearfix issue) and I have gone back to him / tech support as still having issues with creating divisions on my content pages (e.g. how it works page).

An example of what I am trying to create is here:

I'd like to create divisions so that the user can scroll down the page but there are issues changing the background colour of the division only (and yet enabling it to stretch across the entire width of the screen). When adding background colour, it tends to cover the entire page.

Hi Abigail, I created a ticket for you about this, if you can, please let us continue on it so we can try to solve this together.

Hi Luis

I have another question on this so will email you at support@....

Finding a few more issues with creating pages that span across the full width of the page.

Please let me know when you receive the email.

Hi Abigail, please verify that it looks according to your video.

Hi Luis, that's perfect!  Thanks so much for your help :-)
